Pike Street & Acme Road Intersection Improvements (PID 83389)
TEC assisted the City of Marietta in obtaining and combining design and construction funding from multiple sources (CMAQ, STP and HSP) to complete this project. We were subsequently contracted to provide design services for the turn lane realignment and widening of 900 feet of SR 7 (Pike Street) and the realignment of 800 feet of Acme Street. This project included survey; pavement design; intersection design; new ADA curb ramps; drainage design; post construction BMP’s using exfiltration trenches; maintenance of traffic; traffic control devices; major overhead sign design; right of way plan preparation; and two new traffic signal designs with interconnect capabilities. We worked with Marietta and ODOT to incorporate these plans with ongoing work in the area and to account for maintenance of traffic during special events. Additional work included public involvement meetings and professional recommendations to increase safety and traffic flow for an adjacent intersection located just south of the project area.
