SR 741 Safety Study

TEC was retained by the City of Mason to conduct a corridor safety study along approximately 1.6 miles of SR 741 between Cox-Smith Road and Welden Road. This study identified safety issues that contributed to vehicular crashes along SR 741 and presented recommendations for safety enhancements along the corridor. The study area encompassed nine intersections and eight corridor segments, and had experienced 78 total crashes in 2012-2014. It was determined that the greatest safety deficiency within the corridor was a lack of capacity. Therefore, TEC recommended a widening of the corridor to include an additional lane of travel in each direction.
