SR 60 (Muskingum Drive) Widening

TEC assisted the City of Marietta in acquiring a Traffic Engineering grant from the Ohio Traffic Safety Office (OTSO) for a corridor safety study of the SR 60 corridor (limits from Marion Street to Davis Avenue). TEC made several recommendations, including two potential roundabouts at Marion Street and Matthew Street. TEC included the intersection analysis, as well as preliminary engineering and construction cost estimates, for both roundabouts. Following completion of the safety study, TEC assisted the City in obtaining Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC) funding ($530,000) for the design of recommended improvements and was responsible for preparing the construction plans for widening and improvements to approximately 1,220’ of SR 60, providing a continuous center turn lane, exclusive turn lanes at the intersections, and sidewalks on both sides of the roadway. TEC completed the construction plans in just three months and has provided ongoing construction assistance to the City.
