Regional Traffic Counts Program
TEC was responsible for scheduling and supervising the collection of more than 1,600 freeway and non-freeway classification-based traffic counts throughout the OKI region of Clermont, Hamilton, Butler, Warren, Kenton, Boone, Campbell, and Dearborn counties. These counts comprised freeways (I-471, I-75, I-71, I-275), urban corridors, local roads and rural roads. TEC obtained permits through ODOT District 8 and KYTC District 6 for the deployment of count equipment on state routes. To reduce risks to field crews and motorists, a non-intrusive, trailer-mounted radar system was deployed for freeway count locations. TEC also utilized the trailer for other non-intrusive data collection efforts. Each of the annual projects was completed in a tight time frame, on schedule and within budget.
