ODOT Travel Time Research Project
TEC was a subconsultant to the University of Cincinnati to determine the benefits of arterial travel time estimation. This study encompassed a state of practice review through literature research, a public survey to determine the valuation of travel time data within the state of Ohio, and an interview of selected states to determine their experience (including equipment) in arterial travel time estimation. The final report resulted in a recommendation for a second phase of the project to test private sector data reliability versus ground truth “floating car” techniques, versus deployed equipment.
