Harrison Avenue Safety Study

As a subconsultant to JMA consultants, TEC completed a safety study along Harrison Avenue from New Haven Road to Kroger East Drive (approx. 1 mile). This section of Harrison Avenue experienced 218 total crashes between 2016 and 2018. The study identified safety issues that contribute to vehicle crashes and congestion along the corridor and presents recommendations for improvements to mitigate safety. As part of the study, TEC reviewed the potential for a road diet, as well as new signalization, lane realignment and access management. This review was very unique as TEC had to work directly with ODOT and FHWA to ensure the application of the safety countermeasures were utilized correctly due to the unique traffic conditions on Harrison Avenue. This study was submitted for ODOT HSP funding and subsequently received $545,251 in 100% funding (no local match).
